26th January 1909 Gladys born at 137 Market Street Newton Le Willows to Albert and Sarah Edes, Albet is an Insurance Superintendent.

23rd April 1912 Thomas born at 47 Clarington Grove Ince Wigan to Thomas and Margaret Nixon, Thomas is a Grocer’s Manager.

1914 To 1917 Thomas’s family move to Darlington Street Scholes Wigan where the Grocer Business is also located. Thomas is aged 2 to 5.

1st June 1935 Thomas’s father Thomas dies aged 54 at 82 Darlington Street Scholes Wigan of Cardiac Failure. Thomas is aged 23 and probably ran the Grocer business from this point.

1st June 1936 Thomas and Gladys married at New Jerusalem Church Scholes Wigan. Thomas is aged 24 a Grocers Manager living at 82 Darlington Street Scholes Wigan and Gladys is aged 26 of Wigan. Witness and probable best man is Thomas’s brother Alfred. They move away from the shop to Swinley Wigan.

9th October 1938 Daughter Margaret born at 6 Lessingham Avenue Swinley Wigan. Thomas is a Grocer’s Manager.

29th September 1939 Register. Family living at 6 Lessingham Avenue Swinley Wigan. Thomas is a Grocer’s Manager. Thomas is aged 27 a Grocery Shop Manager, Gladys is aged 30 and Margaret is aged 1.

27th October 1940 Thomas’s brother Alfred marries Hilda Mary Taylor at New Jerusalem Church Scholes Wigan. Thomas is probable best man.

20th November 1940 Thomas’s sister Margaret marries Vincent Arthur Hagerty at Wigan Register Office. 

1940 To 1960 Grocer Business must have been wound up and Thomas became an Engineer.

31st March 1945 Thomas’s sister Florence marries Harold Smith at New Jerusalem Church Scholes Wigan. Thomas is probable best man.

13th September 1948 Thomas’s brother Sydney marries Irene Collins at St Stephen Whelley Wigan. Thomas’s brother Alfred is probable best man.

30th January 1960 Daughter Margaret marries David Boardman at Standishgate Methodist Church Central Wigan. Margaret is aged 21 a Bank Clerk living at 6 Lessingham Avenue Swinley Wigan and David is aged 22 an Electrician in the Royal Signals living at 10 Eskdale Avenue Swinley Wigan. A witness is a J Nixon who is probably Jennifer Nixon, Margaret’s cousin. Margaret’s father Thomas’s occupation is Engineer. David and Margaret live in Standish where David is an Electrical Engineer and they have 2 children. Margaret dies aged 70 at Salford Royal Hospital of a Perforated Gastric Ulcer (after Knee Surgery according to the Coroner’s report), residence given as Bank House Thorn Hill Standish, she was a retired Bank Clerk.

13 October 1963 Thomas dies aged 51 at Wrightington Hospital of Coronary Thrombosis residence given as 6 Lessingham Avenue Swinley Wigan and occupation is Radial Arm Driller. Informant was daughter Margaret’s husband David who was also present at the death.

18th May 1977 Thomas’s mother Margaret dies aged 96 at 64 St Marys Road Poole Dorset of Hypertension. Informant was Thomas’s sister Florence who lived at the same address.

29th April 1987 Thomas’s brother Alfred dies aged 72.

9th February 1997 Thomas’s sister Margaret dies aged 79.

17th January 1999 Thomas’s sister Florence dies aged 78.
