1st March 1909 Richard born at 20 Taylors Lane Spring View to Edward and Alice Nixon, Edward is a Collier.

27th August 1911 Jane born at 4 Warrington Road Abram to Sarah Taylor a Colliery Brow Hand, no father is recorded. Informant was a Sarah Kelly living at the same address who was present at the birth, she could not sign the birth certificate. In the 1911 census for that address Sarah Taylor is the daughter of the Head’s wife Sarah Kelly, so the Informant is Sarah’s mother who had re-married. Also living at the address was a boarder named Nicholas Kitchen, a Coal Miner Hewer, whose surname is Jane’s middle name so Nicholas is probably Jane’s father.

14th July 1915 Richard’s father Edward dies aged 38 at 20 Taylors Lane Spring View. Richard is aged 4.

8th June 1935 Richard and Jane married at Hope Street Independent Methodist Church Spring View. Richard is aged 26 a Coal Miner Hewer still living at 20 Taylors Lane Spring View and Jane is aged 23 a Colliery Brow Hand also living at 20 Taylors Lane Spring View, maybe she was a boarder.

1st April 1937 Daughter Jean born at Wigan Infirmary. Richard and Jane are living at 46 Hey Street Ince Wigan.

29th September 1939 Register. Family living at 13 Taylors Lane Spring View. Richard is aged 30 a Colliery Hewer, Jane is aged 28 and Jean is aged 2.

12th August 1943 Son born at Billinge Hospital. Richard and Jane are living at 13 Taylors Lane Spring View.

5th February 1953 Richard’s mother Alice dies aged 75 at 20 Taylors Lane Spring View. Richard is the informant and was present at the death.

6th October 1956 Daughter Jean marries John Caunce at Hope Street Independent Methodist Chapel Spring View. John is aged 20 an Apprenticed Turner Iron Works living at 10 William Street Ince Wigan and Jean is aged 19 a Doubler In Cotton Mill living at 20 Taylors Lane Spring View (which is her aunts’ address not her parents’ address). John and Jean live in Hindley and have 2 children. Jean dies aged 64 on 16th March 2002 at Wigan Infirmary of Pancytopenia, she was a Retired Warehouse Operative living at 22 Hawthorn Avenue Hindley Green.

3rd September 1963 Richard’s sister Alice dies aged 58 at Billinge Hospital of Cystic Cerebral Tumour. She was Winder Cotton Mill still living at 20 Taylors Lane Spring View where she had lived for her whole life. Informant was her sister Emma who also lived at 20 Taylors Lane Spring View.

1966 Son marries at Hope Street Independent Methodist Church Spring View. He has two sons and is still alive.

6th January 1979 Richard’s sister Emma dies aged 75 at Billinge Hospital of Ischaemic Heart Disease. She was a Retired Cotton Mill Winder living at 2 Chatsworth Drive Spring View. Richard was the Informant living at 13 Taylors Lane Spring View.

21st June 1990 Richard dies aged 81 at 25 Ashbourne Avenue Hindley of Pulmonary Fibrosis. Informant was his son. He is buried at Hindley Cemetery.

14th July 1997 Jane dies aged 85 at Eton Hall Nursing Home Darby Lane Hindley of Chronic Obstructive Airway Disease. Her maiden name is given as Hitchen not Taylor. She was a Retired Clerical Assistant Mail Order and lived at the Nursing Home. Informant was her son. She is buried at Hindley Cemetery.
