10th February 1877 Edward born at ??? Buildings Foggs Lane Platt Bridge to James and Ellen Nixon, James is a Collier.

15th January 1878 Alice born at ??? Buildings Spring View to Richard and Jane Molyneux, Richard is a Colliery Blacksmith.

2nd June 1900 Edward and Alice married at Independent Methodist Chapel Wigan. Edward is aged 23 a Collier from 545 Liverpool Road Platt Bridge and Alice is aged 22 from Liverpool Road Platt Bridge. Edward’s sister Jane is a Witness. Edward’s parents are to be buried as Non Conformists so maybe the family had become Methodists.

31st March 1901 Census. Edward and Alice are living at 23 Walthew Lane Platt Bridge with a Henry and Jane Vallender, Alice is recorded as “Daughter” and there is also a Mary J Molyneux who is a Step Daughter. This looks line Alice’s mother Jane has remarried and Edward and Alice are living with her and her new husband. Edward is aged 24 a Coal Miner Hewer and Alice is aged 23.

8th May 1901 Edward’s father James found dead in the Bridgewater Canal at Hall House Bridge Leigh aged 53, a Collier. He had been out of work since Easter and had been having dizzy spells. Edward’s brother John identified the body.

31st August 1901 Daughter Jane born at 23 Walthew Lane Platt Bridge, Edward is a Coal Miner.

28th December 1901 Daughter Jane dies aged 4 months at 23 Walthew Lane Platt Bridge of Convulsions and Stomatitis. Informant is Jane Vallender Alice’s mother who was present at the death.

31st December 1901 Daughter Jane buried at Ince Cemetery in an Alice’s family grave.

1901 To 1903 Family move to Spring View still lodging with Alice’s mother and her husband.

14th March 1903 Daughter Emma born at 20 Taylors Lane Spring View.

31st January 1904 Edward’s mother Ellen dies aged 59 at 543 Liverpool Road Platt Bridge of Bronchitis and Cardiac Failure. Edward was Informant and was also present at the death.

9th August 1905 Daughter Alice born at 20 Taylors Lane Spring View.

1st March 1909 Son Richard born at 20 Taylors Lane Spring View.

2nd April 1911 Census. Family lodging at 20 Taylors Lane Spring View with Alice’s mother and her husband (and Alice’s sister Mary Jane). Edward is aged 34 a Coal Miner Hewer, Alice is aged 33, daughter Emma is aged 8, daughter Alice is aged 5 and son Richard is aged 2.

7th July 1913 Edward’s brother John dies aged 40 at 7 Appleton Street Wallgate Wigan of Cerebral Embolism, 18 months after getting married.

14th July 1915 Edward dies aged 38 at 20 Taylors Lane Spring View of Acute Pericarditism he was a Labourer In A Coal Mine. Alice was the informant and was present at the death. Alice is aged 37, daughter Emma is aged 12, daughter Alice is aged 9 and son Richard is aged 4.

17th July 1915 Edward buried at Ince Cemetery in a Non Conformist grave.

19th June 1921 Census. Alice and family living at 20 Taylors Lane Spring View with her mother’s husband Henry Vallender (Alice’s mother had died). Alice is aged 43, daughter Emma is aged 18 a Cotton Reeler at Eckersleys Ltd Cotton Spinners Poolstock Wigan, daughter Alice is aged 15 a Nurse Domestic for a Private employer at “No Great Place” and son Richard is aged 12.

1928 Alice’s step father Henry Vallender dies, Alice presumably takes over 20 Taylors Lane Spring View as the family carries on living there.

8th June 1935 Son Richard marries Jane Hitchen Taylor at Hope Street Independent Methodist Church Spring View. Richard is aged 26 a Coal Miner Hewer still living at 20 Taylors Lane Spring View and Jane is aged 23 a Colliery Brow Hand also living at 20 Taylors Lane Spring View, maybe she was a boarder.

29th September 1939 Register. Family living at 20 Taylors Lane Spring View, Alice is aged 61, daughter Emma is aged 36 a Textile Cotton Mill Winder and daughter Alice is aged 34 a Textile Cotton Mill Winder.

5th February 1953 Alice dies aged 75 at 20 Taylors Lane Spring View of Myocardial Degeneration. Informant was son Richard who living at 13 Taylors Lane Spring View and was present at the death. Alice had lived at 20 Taylors Lane Spring View for at least 50 years.

9th February 1953 Alice buried at Ince Cemetery in same grave as Edward.

6th October 1956 Son Richard’s daughter Jean marries and gives residence as 20 Taylors Lane Spring View so maybe she was living there with her aunt Alice. Richard was living at 13 Taylors Lane Spring View.

3rd September 1963 Daughter Alice dies aged 58 at Billinge Hospital of Cystic Cerebral Tumour. She was Winder Cotton Mill still living at 20 Taylors Lane Spring View where she had lived for her whole life. Informant was her sister Emma who also lived at 20 Taylors Lane Spring View.

12th September 1963 Daughter Alice buried at Ince Cemetery in same grave as Edward and Alice.

6th January 1979 Daughter Emma dies aged 75 at Billinge Hospital of Ischaemic Heart Disease. She was a Retired Cotton Mill Winder living at 2 Chatsworth Drive Spring View. Informant was brother Richard of 13 Taylors Lane Spring View.
