3rd August 1859 Margaret born in Blackrod to William and Catherine Foster, William is a Master Cordwainer.

17th September 1859 Frederick born in Whiston to George and Alice Lamb, George is a Commercial Traveller. Frederick is subsequently recorded as Frederick Branson in various documents but Branson is not on his birth certificate.

24th September 1859 Frederick’s mother Alice dies aged 33 to 38 at Lane Ends Whiston of Peritonitis (possibly due to Frederick’s birth).

1860 To 1861 Frederick moves to live with father George’s parents John and Ellen Lamb in Blackrod. Father George and son John continue to live in Whiston.

22nd May 1874 Father George’s mother Ellen dies aged 71 at Smiths Brow Blackrod. Frederick is aged 14.

1871 To 1881 Frederick’s brother John moves back to Blackrod to live with father George’s widowed sister Ann and her children, and Frederick lives there too.

23rd April 1881 Frederick’s brother John marries Mary Helen Crabtree at St Katharine Blackrod.

1th July 1881 Frederick’s father George’s sister Ann dies aged 46 at Chorley Road Blackrod. Frederick presumably moves out at this point, he is living with father George’s sister Elizabeth in Chorley Road Blackrod by the 1891 census.

26th December 1881 Frederick’s father George’s father John dies aged 79 at Chorley Road Blackrod.

5th April 1891 Census. Frederick is aged 32 a Wagon Examiner living at 35 Chorley Road Blackrod with father George’s sister Elizabeth and brother John’s son Frederick aged 7.

4th September 1897 Frederick and Margaret married at St Katharine Blackrod. Frederick is aged 37 a Wagon Examiner living in Blackrod and Margaret is aged 38 living in Blackrod. One of witnesses is a Florence Lamb probably the daughter of Frederick’s father George’s brother John.

1897 To 1901 Frederick and Margaret move to Bolton.

31st March 1901 Census. Frederick and Margaret living at 68 Gilnow Lane Bolton. Frederick is aged 40 a Railway Wagon Examiner and Margaret is aged 40. Frederick’s father George is still living in Birkenhead.

1901 To 1911 Frederick’s father George moves to live with Frederick and Margaret in Bolton.

2nd April 1911 Census. Frederick and Margaret living at 108 Gibraltar Street Bolton. Frederick is aged 51 a Wagon Examiner for Lancashire & Yorkshire Railway and Margaret is aged 51. Frederick’s father George is living with them aged 78 of No Occupation.

16th April 1913 Frederick’s father George’s sister Elizabeth dies aged 82.

31st May 1917 Frederick’s father George dies aged 84 at 68 Gilnow Lane Bolton of Bronchitis. Occupation given as Retired Carrier. Informant was Margaret who was present at the death.

22nd June 1917 Frederick’s father George’s probate granted, his estate left to Frederick.

19th June 1921 Census. Frederick and Margaret back living at 68 Gilnow Lane Bolton. Frederick is aged 61 a Wagon Repairer working for L & Y Railway Co in Bolton and Margaret is aged 61.

17th July 1921 Frederick dies aged 61 at Bolton Infirmary after being Being Knocked Down By Railway Engine (coroner ruled Accidental Death). Occupation was Railway Wagon Repairer living at 68 Gilnow Lane Bolton. Margaret is aged 61.

20th July 1921 Frederick buried at St Katharine Blackrod.

14th May? 1923 Margaret marries Henry Pendlebury and they continue to live at 68 Gilnow Lane Bolton which was the address given by both of them in the marriage certificate.

29th September 1939 Register. Henry and Margaret living at 68 Gilnow Lane Bolton. Henry is aged 74 a Firebeater At Electric Works and Margaret is aged 80.

25th January 1946 Margaret dies aged 86 at Fishpool House Farnworth Bolton (which was the Bolton Workhouse, by this time a hospital, see Workhouses) of Cardiac Failure. Margaret was still living at 68 Gilnow Lane Bolton (where she had been for at least 45 years). Henry had pre-deceased her.
