Winwick is a village to the east of St Helens. The parish church of Winwick is St Oswald and its parish used to cover much of St Helens area but was reduced as the population grew.
Winwick is the site of a Lancashire Country Asylum, built in 1897 and closing in 1997. See County Asylums for more information.
