The Windmill was a public house in Scholes Wigan at the corner of Scholes road and Greenough Street, known locally as “Top Long Pull”, see Wigan World and Wigan World.
Richard Fairhurst (1869-1919) ran The Windmill from before 1898 to 1919 when he died there in 1919 of Cirrhosis Of Kidney And Liver. He was married to a Margaret Livesey whose father Thomas was a Brewer, maybe he was associated with the pub, although brewing company of that name can be found.
It was demolished in the mid 1960s when the whole Scholes Wigan area was redeveloped.
