Places: St Laurence Chorley

(See Hundreds And Parishes for background of Parish organisation)

St Laurence is the parish church of Chorley. There was probably an Anglo Saxon church on the site but the first recorded reference is from the 14th century. St Laurence became a parish church in 1793 and there was a major rebuilding in 1861.

See Wikipedia for more information.

A few ancestors based in Chorley and Blackrod used the church for ceremonies.
