Places: St Aidan Billinge

(See Hundreds And Parishes for background of Parish organisation)

St Aidan is a church in Billinge. There was a chapel of ease on the site from around 1539 but the present church was built in 1718 and became a parish in its own right in 1838.

See Wikipedia for more information.

Several ancestors from Billinge and surrounding areas such as Winstanley Wigan had ceremonies here.
