Jameson’s Farm is in Winstanley Wigan. This is the 1890 map which calls it Jamieson’s Farm. The Farm is off Slacky Brow which is now called Pemberton Road.

Jamesons Farm was occupied by John Nixon and then his son Edward Nixon until Edward had to move to Wallgate Wigan and then Hindley before 1853.
In the Tithe Maps of 1838 (found on The Genealogist web site) there is no Edward Nixon but his father John Nixon occupies 17 plots numbered 10 to 23, 25, 33, 34 around Jamesons Farm which are on the Tithe Map image below, corresponding to the area in the 1890 map above. The owner was Meyrick Bankes who was the lord of the manor at Winstanley Hall and who also ran Winstanley Colliery. See Wikipedia for further information.

Jameson’s Farm still exists but is now called Cherry Tree Farm and is off a road called Pine View which follows the line of the track between the farm and Slacky Brow in the 1890 map.
