Places: Ince Wigan

Ince is a neighbourhod to the south east of Central Wigan bounded by the Whelley Loop Line to the north and east, countryside to the south and a railway line to the West. A railway line also runs through the middle of Ince, the area to the north of the railway line is known as Higher Ince and the area to the south of the railway line is known as Lower Ince.

Ince is more properly known as Ince In Makerfield and is an ancient township now consumed by Wigan.

Lower Ince hosts Wigan Cemetery and Crematorium where several ancestors are buried.
