Places: Holy Trinity Garswood

(See Hundreds And Parishes for background of Parish organisation)

The church of Holy Trinity is in the Downall Green neighbourhood of Garswood. The church was built and opened as a Parish Church in 1838 after the ancient parish of Winwick was split up. Before that date ceremonies were performed at other churches.

For more information see Lancashire OnLine Parish Clerks, Who Built Wigans Churches and FamilySearch.

Holy Trinity was used for many ancestral ceremonies including the marriage of Norman And Marian Barton and the ancestors of Marian.
