Sometimes a person in a family cannot be fully researched, ie. after a certain date no trace of that person can be found. This may be due to some real world reason such as the person emigrating without a record, or dying overseas in the military. It could also be due to a clerical error in the documentation or in the transcription of the documentation for indexing.
Before the age of certificates and censuses records are sparse and may not have been indexed at all so there are likely to be more mysteries prior to 1837.
The following are the current mysteries.
John Barton (1871-1943)
In John’s marriage certificate of 1902 he is recorded as a Widower but no first marriage can be found.
Mary Ryans (1874-????)
Married to John Brown (1881-1965) but the death date of Mary Ryans cannot be found. She is present in the 1939 Register. Search is made difficult by her common married name of Mary Brown.
Florence Brown (1904-????)
Florence Brown cannot be traced after the 1911 census when she was aged 7.
Mary Elizabeth Brown (1912-????)
Mary Elizabeth Brown cannot be traced after the 1921 census when she was aged 9.
Edith Lee (1880-????)
Married to Henry Heaton (1877-1954) but the death date of Edith cannot be found. She was present in the 1939 Register but Henry did not leave anything to her in his will of 1954 so maybe she was dead by then, though no death of an Edith Heaton can be found in GRO anywhere in the country up to end of digitised certificates in 1957.
