18th April 1842 John and Margaret marry at St Oswald Winwick (nearest church that could hold marriage ceremonies at the time). John is a Collier from Ashton In Makerfield aged 22, Margaret is from Ashton In Makerfield aged 18.

2nd December 1853 Daughter Hannah born at Lower Lane Ashton In Makerfield. John is a Collier. Hannah marries James Wilkie (no relation to sister Anne’s husband) a Farm Labourer. They have 3 children and live in New Springs Wigan. After James Wilkie’s death in 1922, daughter Hannah marries Ralph Winrow. Daughter Hannah dies aged 83 on 3rd January 1937 of Senility.

7th April 1861 Census. Family living at Lower Lane Ashton In Makerfield. John is a Collier aged 39, Margaret is aged 37, daughter Anne is a Far Servant aged 18, son John is a Collier aged 17, son James is a Collier aged 12 and daughter Hannah is aged 7.

1861 To 1866 Family move to Slag Lane Haydock.

18th July 1866 John dies aged 46 of Congestion And Effusion On The Brain at Slag Lane Haydock. A William Speakman was the informant and also present at the death.

20th July 1866 John buried at St Thomas Ashton In Makerfield.

16th August 1867 Daughter Anne marries Alexander Wilkie at St James The Great Haydock. Anne is aged 25 and Alexander is a Farm Labourer aged 24. Alexander Wilkie becomes a Farm and they have 1 child. After Alexander dies in 1885 Anne marries Thomas Hesketh a Hotel Proprietor from Walton Liverpool. Anne dies on 26th February 1918 of Carcinoma Of The Breast aged 75 in Walton Liverpool.

24th September 1867 Margaret dies aged 44 of Fever (14 days duration) at Slag Lane Haydock. Informant is son John who is also living at Slag Lane Haydock and was present at the death. Daughter Hannah is aged 13 at the time. In the 1871 census Hannah aged 17 and a Labourer At A Coal Mine is living with brother John and wife Hannah at Slag Lane Haydock, possibly in the same house as John and Margaret once lived in.

25th September 1867 Margaret buried at St Thomas Ashton In Makerfield.
