2nd December 1908 Daughter Annie baptised at St Peter Parr St Helens.

10th September 1911 Daughter Annie baptised at St Peter Parr St Helens.
1914 onwards There is no evidence that father John signed up for the Army duing the First World War.
19th December 1917 John’s father John dies at 202 Tithebarn Road Haydock.
1917 to 1918 Family move to 202 Tithebarn Road Haydock and John ceases to be a Police Constable. This possibly happened after John’s father dies, but could have been earlier.
7th August 1918 Jane dies at 202 Tithebarn Road Haydock of Carcinoma Of Omentum (flesh that protects abdominal organs) and Exhaustion aged 46. John is a Colliery Sawyers Labourer.
11th August 1918 Jane buried at Holy Trinity Garswood.
3rd November 1919 John marries Ann Smith nee Houghton at Holy Trinity Garswood. John is aged 40 and a Labourer, Ann is 54 and a Widow of 202 Garswood Road Haydock which is a few minutes away from 202 Tithebarn Road Haydock. Witnesses are John’s brother Banks and a Margaret Heaton which is probably Banks’ wife.
19th June 1921 Census. Family living at 202 Tithebarn Road Haydock. John is working as a Surface Labourer at J & R Stones Colliery Garswood. John’s mother Hannah is also living alone at the same address but has a separate census return.
1921 to 1930 John’s mother Hannah moves from 202 Tithebarn Road Haydock to 284 Liverpool Road Haydock, probably to live with John’s sister Jane. John and Ann continue to live at 202 Tithebarn Road Haydock.
2nd April 1930 John’s mother Hannah dies at 284 Liverpool Road Haydock where she is likely living with John’s sister Jane.
19th June 1930 Son John marries Jerusha Turner at St Mark Haydock. John is living at 202 Tithebarn Road Haydock, of unknown occupation (possibly a clerk) aged 24, Jerusha lives at 266 Liverpool Road Haydock.
24th August 1935 Daughter Nellie marries Albert Charles Gaunt at Holy Trinity Garswood. Nellie lives at 202 Tithebarn Road Haydock aged 23, Albert lives at 382 Clipsley Lane Haydock a Colliery Clerk aged 27.
29th September 1939 Register. John and Ann living at 202 Tithebarn Road Haydock, along with daughter Nellie and husband Albert. John is listed as a retired Colliery Surface Worker aged 65, Ann aged 73, Nellie aged 28 and Albert aged 31 a Colliery Clerk.
1940 Son in law Albert joins the Royal Artillery.
2nd January 1942 Daughter Nellie found drowned in Pewfall Reservoir having been missing since 31st December 1941, aged 30. Residence is still 202 Tithebarn Road Haydock.
3rd January 1942 Liverpool Echo reports Nellie’s death, stating “on New Year’s Eve she left home to visit an aunt”. This could be father John’s brother Banks’ wife Margaret who lived in Victoria Road Garswood.
1942 Son in law Albert recorded as a Prisoner Of War in Thailand Camp 4.
26th October 1943 Son in law Albert dies in a Prisoner Of War camp in Thailand, aged 35, a gunner in the 188 Field Regiment of the Royal Artillery. He is later buried in Chungkai War Cemetery in Thailand.

4th September 1945 Ann dies of Stomach Cancer at 202 Tithebarn Road Haydock aged 79, her stepson John in attendance.
1945 to 1958 John moves from 202 Tithebarn Road Haydock to 201 Liverpool Road Haydock, to live with son John.
22nd January 1958 John dies of Coronary Thombosis at 201 Liverpool Road Haydock aged 84, son John in attendance.
