14th December 1893 Annie born at 9 Back Lane St Helens, where father Thomas is a Coal Miner. Back Lane is the street now known as Woodlands Road Haresfinch St Helens according to this St Helens Star Article.

13th August 1896 Edward’s father Thomas dies aged 37, Edward is aged 7.

2nd April 1911 Census. Edward aged 21 is working for John Littler at Pyes Farm Haresfinch St Helens.

5th September 1914 Edward enlists in the Armed Forces, war having being declared on the 4th August. Occupation given as Farm Labourer, height 5 feet 7 and a half inches.

16th December 1914 Edward discharged from Armed Forces as Medically Unfit, with reason Tachycardia due to effects of rheumatism on heart.

20th February 1915 Edward and Annie marry at St Mark Windle St Helens. Edward is living at Folds Farm Haresfinch St Helens as a Farm Labourer aged 25 and Annie is a Domestic Servant at School House Back Lane St Helens aged 21 (again this is probably the modern Woodlands Road). Witness and probable best man is Edward’s brother Thomas.

6th October 1919 Edward’s mother Elizabeth dies aged 59.

13th December 1919 Son Thomas Edward born at 11 Back Lane Haresfinch St Helens. Edward is a Traction Engine Driver.

19th June 1921 Census. Family is living at 11 Back Lane Haresfinch St Helens. Edward is a Traction Engine Driver for M.L.E Powell a Farmer of Wards Farm Huyton aged 32, Annie is aged 27 and son Thomas is aged 1.

12th July 1921 Son Ronald born at 11 Back Lane Haresfinch St Helens. Edward is a Traction Engine Driver. Ronald never married and was a Training Manager in Haydock. He died on 29th April 1991 at District General Hospital Warrington of Bronchial Carcinoma age 69. He was living at 2 Buckfast Avenue Haydock.

11th April 1923 Daughter Edith Margaret born at 11 Back Lane Haresfinch St Helens. Edward is a Motor Driver for a Sheet Glass Works.

23rd May 1923 Edward dies of Cardiac Failure at Providence Hospital St Helens aged 34 (possibly related to the Tachycardia documented in 1914). Occupation given as Motor Driver at a Sheet Glass Works and residence is 11 Back Lane Haresfinch St Helens. Informant is brother John. Annie is aged 29 with three children under 5, she never remarries.

29th September 1939 Register. Family living 11 Woodlands Road Haresfinch St Helens (which is likely the same house as 11 Back Lane). Annie is aged 45, son Thomas is an Apprentice Bricklayer aged 19, Ronald is an Apprentice Joiner aged 17 and Edith is a Domestic Servant aged 16.

31st December 1942 Daughter Edith marries Eric Gilchrist. Edith is aged 19 and Eric is aged 34. They have 2 children and live in St Helens. Edith dies on 22nd March 2002 of Carcinoma Of Ovary at John Joseph Powell Memorial Home Prescot aged 78. Residence is given as 13 York Close Central St Helens.

29th May 1948 Son Thomas marries Isabella Stockton at St Helen St Helens. Son Thomas is a Bricklayer aged 27 from 11 Woodlands Road Haresfinch St Helens and Isabella is aged 21 from 36 Bickerstaffe Street Central St Helens. Witness and probable best man is brother Ronald.

7th October 1986 Annie dies at St Helens Hospital of Recurrent Chest Infections aged 92. Occupation given as retired School Cook living at 21 Pine Avenue City Windle St Helens. Informant was daughter Edith.
